International Seminar “Family Networks for the Future of the Church” in Rome
on the Saturday 31 May 2025, Jubilee of Families, Grandparents and the Elderly,
Sala Giubileo, LUMSA University, Via di Porta Castello 44, Rome, Italy
For more than 30 years the Italian Forum of Family Associations and the Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe represent Italian and European associations to share, inform and prepare effective interventions within national and European institutions (Council of Europe, Parliament European Commission, Commission…), in particular to cooperate on the four crises that today cross our continent: demography, migration, work and education.
However, these challenges are increasingly global, as can be seen from the latest World Social Report United Nations (“Leaving no one behind in an ageing world”, 2023) and especially by the Family Global Compact : here, family networks and associations are considered as essential to give voice to the family and to favour solidarity.
This seminar, taking inspiration by what many Catholic inspired NGOs have done in the past and still are doing, in the context of the Jubilee of Families, Children, Grandparents and the Elderly, wishes to give new hope and strength to the commitment of the Catholic laity at all levels and especially in the international political arena.
There are other activities organised during the Jubilee of Families, Grandparents and the Elderly : you may find the list here.
The Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe represents 33 national and local organisations: we are the voice of families from a Catholic perspective at the European level. FAFCE holds a participatory status with the Council of Europe since 2001 and is a member of the Fundamental Rights Platform of the European Union.
