Katholischer Familienverband Österreich

The Katholische Familienverband was founded in 1953 and is the biggest politically independent family organisation in Austria based on nine diocesan associations. Cardinal DDr. Franz König was the founding father of the Catholic Family Association. The then officer for family affairs of the Episcopal Conference König said in his inaugural speech in September 1953: “A society in which families with children run the risk of falling below the poverty line shows up its own shortcomings.”

The Katholische Familienverband of Austria acts in the interest of all families. We strengthen the families and promote the social recognition of their contributions. Political work and service for the families are our mission.
The Katholische Familienverband has 60,000 member families throughout Austria and works with full-time and voluntary personnel.
